today i found my guinea pig lying on her side in her pouch. first i thought she was dead but she was still breathing. she seems like shes paralize and cant stand up.
she has poop coming out her butt too.
i washed her off first and dried her. keeping her warm.
i tried feeding her but she wont take it. i also tried giving her food but she just takes it but doesnt chew it up. ive had it for only 2 weeks now. given as a birthday present from a close friend.

I really hope I have this in the right section.

I just saw this on Petfinder and it made me so sad.... This shelter just took in over 30 guinea pigs. I have the distinct feeling that it isn't a no kill shelter. They also said that most are males, and I'm thinking the females are probably pregnant. There's a baby in a couple of the pictures. Look at the conditions they're having to live in. Feces, overpopulated, small cages, wire flooring. I wish I could take them all. Is there anyone...

The people that lived next door to us moved but didn't take their pets with them. They had been gone almost a week when my son found the animals in boxes & aquariums in the laundry room of the empty house and brought them to me. This was in March and how these poor babies made it is beyond me. It was still so cold then and this laundry room is an add on and you have to go outside to get to it so it's not heated.

Just dropping a note here to let everyone know that there is a new rescue located in Bayonne, NJ. We handle cavies, rabbits, rats, hamsters, gerbils, mice, chinchillas, and hedgehogs.
